A couple weeks back, and how CareLink® Therapy Management Software really helps her take control of her health. She’s not alone – is a very popular part of our integrated system. Customers tell us they really like seeing the cause-and-effect relationships in all those colorful charts, graphs, and tables. And it’s really helpful to be able to share and discuss them with your endo. But the biggest complaint that we’ve received about CareLink is that it’s not compatible with a Macuntil now. That’s right, today we launched in the United States! Not only does CareLink work with your Mac, but it supports over 35 meters, including meters with that do not have Mac support through their meter manufacturer.

I was glad to be able to use care link on my macbook for a monthuntil I upgraded. To OSX 10.7then care link won’t work again.very disappointing. It only works with outdated software. The release of 10.7 wasn’t a secret and Medtronic should have planned for it. I have to agree that the whole situation with technology is handled poorly. I can no longer review the results of my CGMS at home.

Of course, I’ve called for support before since those results are so inaccurate as well. So very disappointing. September 6, 2011. @Timothy glad to hear you’re so excited about the international release of CareLink Personal for Mac (we are too!) I know the fact that CareLink isn’t yet approved for use with Lion is frustrating. So, I thought some additional context around the software development and regulatory approval process for a program like CareLink might be helpful.

It can take several months to develop and test any changes that may need to be made due to a new OS. Like other companies, we begin testing with Beta version of a new OS (like Lion). But, we cannot complete the development process until the final version of the software is released (as mentioned in our reply to @Kevin above). And, unlike a lot of other companies whose software is not “medical device software”, once all qualifications testing is complete, CareLink has to be approved by regulatory agencies to ensure it is safe and effective, which can take several months. All combined, this creates a time lag between the release of a new OS and the release of new version of CareLink. I know the time delay can be frustrating, but the development, testing and regulatory approval process are designed to protect the safety of people who rely on healthcare software to manage their diabetes.

We do everything we can to get new updates to the market as soon as possible. September 19, 2011. I went through this issue YEARS ago. When I was asked about upgrading to the Revel I specifically asked if I could use my Mac to upload data as well as read it. Sadly, i feel mislead.

Most Mac users probably upgrade to Lion at some point if they have not done so yet. We have been using Lion for the past several months.

I feel very frustrated that after all these years I am unable to use Carelink with my Mac. Christmas is in a few weeks and I have a lot going on like many. And would have delayed getting the Revel until the Mac soultion is resolved December 4, 2011. I would just like to add that when we had purchased this equipment a few years ago we weren’t told it WASN’T mac compatible and in the years since have never been told by anyone that it ever became mac compatible. Thus we paid for it out of pocket only to be told ‘sorry not mac compatible and oh you can’t return it for a refund.’ Now we have found it to be mac compatible BUT sorry – not Lion.

FRUSTRATING to say the least. We have been using an iPhone/Pod/Pad application to register my daughter’s blood sugar. It has to be done manually but the reading history can be emailed and then opened with Numbers or Excel and modified if needed.

December 7, 2011. @Thomas I’m very sorry you’re upset that CareLink isn’t yet approved for use with Lion. I know the situation is very frustrating. Like other companies, we begin testing with Beta version of a new OS (like Lion) but then complete the development process once the final version of the software is released.

After days of deliberations and discussions, Maccabi Tel Aviv got the news it was hoping for on Wednesday when the Euroleague announced that the Final Four title game will be brought forward to 17:30 Israel time to ensure it will finish before the commencing of Yom Hazikaron on Sunday, May 8. Maccabi had alerted the Euroleague to the problem earlier this season, but it was only after Tel Aviv booked its place in the Final Four with a 3-1 series victory over Caja Laboral Vitoria last Thursday that the organizers understood that something had to be done or the yellow- and-blue would forfeit its place. “The decision was made after long discussions as there were many obstacles to overcome,” said Maccabi chairman Shimon Mizrahi, who together with part-owner David Federman and CEO Eli Driks met Euroleague CEO Jordi Bertomeu in Spain on Wednesday. “An extraordinary effort was made and eventually the solution was found.” The schedule for the semifinals was also announced on Wednesday, with Maccabi to face the winner of the series between Real Madrid and Valencia, which will be decided on Thursday night, at 10 p.m. Israel time on Friday, May 6.

“Euroleague Basketball would like to thank all parties and partners involved in understanding the situation and assisting us in reaching a general consensus on this decision. Two concerns have been paramount throughout the decision-making process: basketball integrity and fan enjoyment. Euroleague Basketball has made sure that the best teams this season, as proven on the court, will compete for the Euroleague title at the Final Four.” Maccabi coach David Blatt was understandably delighted to hear that his team will get the chance to cap a superb season by competing in the Final Four.

“This is a very good feeling,” Blatt said. “We are full of appreciation for our management which worked so hard to solve this problematic situation. I also have a lot of warmth in my heart for the Euroleague, which helped us and did the right thing for everyone, and they deserve credit for that. “We did our job on the court to get Maccabi and thousands of our fans to the Final Four, the showcase event of European basketball, and we are very happy at the moment.”.
