FlowVella for Mac lets you create all types of interactive presentations that you can share directly or use as a visual aid during a lecture or other demonstration. With tons of template options for various purposes and the ability to integrate all types of media, this app gives you all the tools you need to effectively and efficiently communicate your ideas to your audience, no matter who or where they are. Pros Template designs: The templates available through this program are much more than just basic outlines that you have to flesh out and fill in on your own. They are specifically tailored to the type of presentation they're meant to support, and the variety of options ensures that you'll have no trouble finding one that perfectly suits your purpose.

Intuitive controls and shortcuts: Once you've chosen a template, you'll have no trouble adding your own content to the mix. That process is made as smooth as possible by the intuitive controls that let you add text, images, videos, or links to each slide, as well as the available keyboard shortcuts that put all tools literally at your fingertips. Cons Bugs and delays: While it's nice to be able to preview each type of template before you make your selection, the previews did take quite a while to load. We also had a hard time actually making a template selection, as not all of the options were responsive.

Bottom Line FlowVella for Mac gives you an excellent set of tools to create beautiful Web-based presentations for a wide variety of purposes. Its controls and processes are smooth and intuitive, and the minor glitches we encountered during testing did little to take away from the many benefits the app provides.

Full Specifications What's new in version 1.2. Auto-advance now supports looping when reaching the last screen. Can now pause an auto-advancing presentation by pressing spacebar. Flowception!

It is no secret: we are fans of, the paradigm-shifting software that empowers presenters to create, share, and track interactive presentations. Earlier in the year we made a short video demonstrating 5 great Flowvella features. It is important to note however that Flowvella has many great features, far exceeding the five in our demo. In fact, the Flowvella team recently added some exciting new features that dramatically enhance the already sophisticated software. With Flowvella announcing some impressive new features, we decided to check in with Flowvella founder and CEO Brent Brookler for a quick Q&A about his journey with Flowvella. After you read the Q&A with Brent, head on over to to check out the software and new features. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Q&A with Brent Brookler: 1. Can you tell me how Flowvella started?

Our team and I had been building mobile apps for several clients like CBS News and Beyonce. We built 60 Minutes, 48 Hours, CNET News and several other iPad, iPhone and Android apps for big brands. We specialized in building content driven, interactive, apps and wanted to bring this technology to anyone. We realized that we were building a better, more engaging way to present ideas, products and stories. What were some of the challenges you encountered when starting Flowvella, and how did you overcome those obstacles?

We built FlowVella while we had existing clients and customers but we believed the vision for FlowVella was bigger. We decided to take the risk of building a new business and focus on the larger opportunity. We needed to raise money and build the best possible product. We built the plan, and began to execute and now we have hundreds of thousands of users and growing. What have been some of your greatest successes with Flowvella, and how did you reach those successes? Every day we receive emails or read reviews praising our work.

We have built a growing following with almost no marketing budget or advertising. We recently secured our third deal for FlowVella presentations as iPad based kiosks in museums. We haven’t announced this latest deal yet, but it is with the biggest museum brand in the US and the content is out of this world. We just launched this iPad app building product a few months ago, and we know there is huge potential with it. Just think, FlowVella is museum quality software.

What is on the horizon for Flowvella? We are planning on bringing FlowVella to more platforms and operating systems while continuing to refine and improve existing features and add new features. We listen closely to our users and we know what we need to build to go to the next level. What are your top 3 presentation tips?

“Less is more.” Try to be succinct with words and images and shapes on every slide. White space is beautiful and brings balance. “Be prepared.” It’s the Scout Motto and it should be words to live by for anyone giving a presentation.

When I am giving a presentation, I bring every cable, power cord and more. We built FlowVella in a way that you don’t need wifi or an internet connection, it works offline, it’s prepared. “Practice a lot.” It may seem obvious, but you should practice your presentation extensively if you want to have the best performance. I recently gave a 3 minute update/pitch. I prepared for hours and hand wrote the script. It was one of my best performances and I won over several new investors with that 3 minute pitch.

Who is a presenter you admire, and why? Steve Jobs was an amazing presenter. He was a master. He controlled the room, the pace, the presentation. He used the presentation as a guide, but his presence, his voice, his intent captured the audience and was the stage to launch some of the biggest products of our lifetime. His legacy continues on in the theatrics of each Apple launch and is emulated, but not as successfully by many other companies.
